My interior design service, Design Alchemy, Creating Your Sacred Space is focused on Seasoned Souls, Wise Women who carry within them a lifetime of wisdom, memory and meaning. Life is ever changing. Transitions, whether through loss, solitude, retirement, or the quiet passage of time, reshape not only who we are, but also how we inhabit our spaces. A home should reflect the fullness of the moment as well as of a life lived. Memories and stories of the past present significantly influence the achievement of an individual’s Sacred Space. Through the lens of depth psychology, I honor the inner and outer worlds of Seasoned Souls, and use Design Alchemy to create Sacred Spaces that invite reflection, celebrate the journey of self-discovery, and nurture the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those in the later chapters of life. A client's tiny space in her old, funky apartment kitchen. It had just been painted, and she wanted to make space for her Astrology work and Tarot cards. First, we hung window treatments and lights, then added furniture I discovered in her storage area. Plants brought the outdoors in, along with rocks, shells, and crystals she collects. As her alchemist guide, I helped her create her Sacred Space through her individuation.
